Abstract

Digital transformation in the transportation industry has driven the adoption of e-ticketing systems as a replacement for traditional physical tickets. However, this transition brings significant data security challenges regarding sensitive user information such as personal data, payment details, and travel information. This research aims to design and implement an e-ticketing data security system using the Advanced Encryption Standard cryptographic algorithm with a 256-bit key length to comprehensively protect user data. The research method employs a descriptive qualitative approach with five stages: literature study, system architecture design, prototype implementation using Java and Bouncy Castle library, security testing, and results evaluation. The system is designed with a modular architecture including encryption service, authentication service, ticketing service, QR code generator, and verification service integrated with an encrypted database. Performance testing results show that ticket data encryption and decryption requires 0.9 milliseconds with a throughput of 10 megabytes per second. Security testing using OWASP ZAP demonstrates system resistance to SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting, and Man-in-the-Middle attacks. The ticket duplication detection mechanism successfully prevented 100 percent of duplication attempts in simulations. Brute-force resistance analysis shows key space complexity reaching 2 to the power of 256 combinations, which is practically unbreakable. The research conclusion emphasizes that AES-256 implementation with Cipher Block Chaining mode provides an optimal balance between enterprise-level security and efficient system performance for e-ticketing applications.
