Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is a reproductive health problem commonly experienced by adolescent girls and can impact daily activities. The prevalence of dysmenorrhea in Indonesia in 2023 was recorded at 62.25% of women of reproductive age, with the incidence rate also quite high in West Java Province. Various efforts to treat dysmenorrhea can be done, one of which is through non-pharmacological therapy using natural ingredients. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of administering a combination of green coconut water, lime, and honey on the intensity of dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent girls. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach with a control group design. The study sample consisted of 30 adolescent girls experiencing primary dysmenorrhea, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Pain levels were measured using a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data analysis used a Paired-t test and an Independent t-test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed a significant decrease in dysmenorrhea pain intensity in the intervention group after being administered a combination of green coconut water, lime, and honey (p = 0.000). Furthermore, there was a significant difference between the intervention and control groups after treatment (p=0.000). The study concluded that administering a combination of green coconut water, lime, and honey significantly reduced the intensity of dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent girls. This research can be used as a safe, non-pharmacological therapy alternative.
