This study analyzes the representation of the police institution, victims' experiences, and civil society criticism in Mantra Berbenah, a documentary film produced by Watchdoc. The film explores the issue of abuse of power within the police institution through an investigative journalism approach. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method using Stuart Hall's representation analysis. Primary data were obtained from the documentary film, while secondary data were collected from journals, scholarly articles, and other relevant documents through documentation and literature review. The findings indicate that the film represents the police institution as a structure with systemic problems in the exercise of authority. Victims are portrayed as individuals who experience injustice while serving as alternative sources of truth, whereas civil society is represented as a form of criticism toward institutional power. The documentary also functions as a form of investigative journalism that promotes public awareness of the importance of accountability in state institutions.
