PENGARUH EDUKASI MEDIA LEAFLET TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN TENTANG HIPOGLIKEMIA PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI RSU PINDAD BANDUNG

Background: Hypoglycemia is one of the serious complications in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus that can lead to fatal outcomes if not properly managed. Low patient knowledge about hypoglycemia is one of the risk factors contributing to this complication. Health education using leaflet media is one method that can be used to improve patient knowledge.
Objective: To determine the effect of leaflet-based education on knowledge about hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at RSU Pindad Bandung in 2026.
Methods: This study was a quantitative research with a pre-experimental design using a one group pre-test and post-test approach. The sample consisted of 52 respondents selected using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using a hypoglycemia knowledge questionnaire consisting of 15 questions. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test.
Results: A total of 37 respondents (71.2%) had low knowledge before receiving education, and after leaflet-based education, there was an improvement in respondents' knowledge levels. The Wilcoxon test showed a p-value ≤ 0.05.
Conclusion: There is a significant effect of leaflet-based education on improving knowledge about hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at RSU Pindad Bandung. Leaflet-based education is effective in improving patients' understanding of hypoglycemia.
